Meet The Executive Board
Chairperson & Co-Founder
Victor Ramirez is the principal owner of the Law Office of Victor R. Ramirez, LLC located in College Park, Maryland. Mr. Ramirez was the first latino to serve in both the Maryland House of Delegates and State Senate where he served with distinction for 16 years. Mr. Ramirez served as a Trustee on the Prince George’s Community College Board and was a Board member of the Salvadoran American Chamber of Commerce. He is currently the board president of EcoLatinos. He is the head boys soccer coach at Northwestern High School and led Northwestern to a state championship in 2021, and was named the coach of the year by The Washington Post. He is married to Betsy, and they have two children and reside in Hyattsville.

Michelle García is the daughter of a Peruvian immigrant and entrepreneurial father and a mother from Puerto Rico. Ms. García graduated from the University of Maryland. She was elected in 2018 as an At-Large Member of State Legislative District 21 on the Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee (PGCDCC). In July 2022, Ms. García was reelected to the PGCDCC to represent District 21. She is Chief of Staff to Prince George’s County Council Chair Tom Dernoga of District 1. Ms. García previously served as Chief of Staff to Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk. In 2015, she was selected as the first Executive Director of the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus. She currently lives in Beltsville with her daughter.
Treasurer & Co-Founder
Carlo Sanchez is a lifelong Prince George’s resident of Salvadoran descent. He is a former Maryland State Delegate, having represented District 47B. During his time as State Delegate, he was elected Chair of the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus. Before that, Mr. Sanchez was elected to the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee, where he served as Secretary. He currently works for Montgomery College, in charge of the Public Safety Department for the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. In addition, Mr. Sanchez currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the State Chapter of the Sierra Club, the first Latino to ever hold the position. He currently resides in Takoma Park.
Recording Secretary
Jose Villegas was born in El Salvador and relocated to Prince George’s County. Mr. Villegas is a graduate of the University of Maryland, and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Baltimore. Currently, he is the Manager of the Investigation Division in the Office of Human Rights. Over the past 18 years, Mr. Villegas worked for the Prince George’s County government investigating violations of anti-discrimination laws. In this capacity, Mr. Villegas has provided the Latino community with information about their rights in Employment, Housing, Public Accommodation, and other areas that directly impact them. He lives in Hyattsville.

Rocio Treminio-Lopez grew up in El Salvador and immigrated to the United States at the age of 14. In 2012 Mayor Treminio-Lopez enrolled in the University of Maryland University College and has since completed her Bachelor in Human Resources Management. Ms. Treminio-Lopez was sworn in as the Mayor of the Town of Brentwood on May 5, 2015. Before her appointment, she served as interim Mayor since November 2014 after the former Mayor resigned. She is currently the Latino Small Business Liaison for the Prince George’s Economic Development Corporation. She is married and has four children.
At-Large Member & Co-Founder
Genesis Báez is originally from Bronx, New York, and is the daughter of parents from the Dominican Republic. She is a graduate of Coppin State University. She is currently the Community Liaison for Prince George's County Purple Line Project. She ensures transparent and equitable communication between the project and the county's residents. Additionally, she served as a legislative aide for the Maryland Latino Caucus at the Maryland General Assembly. Following her time in Annapolis, Ms. Báez served as Community Liaison for Prince George's County Council Chair Tom Dernoga of District 1. She currently resides in Calverton with her son.
Parliamentarian
Julio Murillo emigrated from Colombia with his family. He is a proud Prince George's County Public Schools graduate and the University of Maryland. After college, Mr. Murillo advocated for immigrant and working-class families at the local, county, and state levels. Mr. Murillo's advocacy included advancing quality of life issues for Prince George's County residents. As a result, he is a recipient of the Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund's Forty under Forty award for public service. Mr. Murillo serves as Chief of Staff to a Prince George's County Council Member. He currently resides in Landover Hills with his wife.
